Doubice

The community is composed of two parts connected with a built-up area with numerous building of folk architecture. The northern part-Stara Doubice-existed already in the 15th century, there was a glasshouse mentioned as early as in 1457. The southern part-Nova Doubice-was founded as late as in the 18th century by the parcelling of an estate. In the past, another part of the community-Zadni Doubice-existed in the Krinice brook valley approximately 5 km northwest and is mentioned in historical sources as early as in 1547.


Monument commemorating eigth prisoners killed in Schwarzheide concentration camp during a death march from Saupsdorf to Chribska on 23 April 1945 situated in the Kyjov valley where Zadni Doubice once stood.

Classical church of the Ascention built in 1814 is located in the center of the village.

The nature reserve Vapenka 2 km northwest of the village is part of the Lusatia Shift which is a unique formation of various geological units in the Northern Bohemia.

The excellent climatic situation of the village among vast woods makes it an excellent holiday area. There is a number various houses serving mainly as cottages.
